Creating a desktop application from ANY website (In 30 Seconds)

Post a Comment

Making a desktop app is the only thing I can think of as a better way to start the day. Do you? I'm going to give you the ability to turn any website into a desktop application right now.

Step 1:

Go to https://nodejs.org/en/ and download Node JS LTS.

then launch the equivalent of your operating system's command prompt (on Windows) (terminal for mac).

No matter what operating system you use, please take note.

Step 2:

At this point, we must install the nativefier github tool on your device globally.

To do this, enter the script that follows into the command prompt (or its equivalent):

npm install -g nativefier

Give the installation a minute.

Step 3:

After installing Nativefier, enter the following code, replacing your website with the domain of the website you want to turn into an app.

nativefier 'your website'

Here is an example:

nativefier 'dev.to'

Hit enter after that and wait for it to load. This time, it could take a while.

Step 4:

The last step is to test out your own desktop application after it has finished loading.

Open the path indicated on the command prompt to accomplish this. You can do this using your OS's file opener. Windows file explorer and MacBook finder.

When you open the executable file after entering the path, your app should appear.

Conclusion

Thank you for reading through to the end; I hope it was helpful. Please leave a comment below if you have any questions. I'll reply right away.
